So that means once I had the basic template created, there were a handful of variants I needed to create to make this a complete set. There are two engines available (v2500 and CFM56) and two different types of wingtips (rakelets and sharklets) – and any combination of all this stuff is available from Airbus today. The difficulty comes when you factor in all the variants of the A320. You’d probably think that creating templates of a smaller aircraft such as this would be easier than some of the larger airplanes I’ve been doing recently (the A380 templates in particular). It’s far from being the most interesting commercial airliner in existence, and it wasn’t that fun to draw if I’m being honest, but it needed to get done.īasically, the A320 series of aircraft has proven to be an extremely popular choice for airlines all over the world. Creating this full set of side view templates (and blueprints) for the Airbus A320 series was a fun challenge.
